DESIGN FOR MANUFACTURING
An innovative assistive device designed to enhance mobility for visually impaired users. Integrating Arduino technology with distance sensors, it detects obstacles at head level — a limitation of traditional white canes. When an obstacle is identified, the cane provides feedback through vibrations in the handle, enabling safer and more intuitive navigation.
Smart Cane
DETECTS ABOVE GROUND OBSTACLES
The Smart Cane combines ergonomic design principles with advanced sensor technology. The Arduino-based system processes distance measurements in real time to alert users of overhead obstacles, addressing a critical gap in conventional mobility aids.
